The Movie Anuranan

Rahul, a creative and sensitive individual, arrives at a lonely hill station in Sikkim to help build a new holiday resort. The friendship between the two couples, Rahul and Nandita and Amit and Preeti, paves the way for a deeper bond between Rahul and Preeti. Towards the end of the movie, this "anuranan" between the two is misunderstood by society, including Amit. This misunderstanding intensifies when Rahul suddenly dies, leaving Nandita lonely. The fact that the love between Rahul and Nandita was pure does not prevent Nandita from falling prey to the rumors as well. All the four main characters are depicted as lost and lonely.

The film was shot on location in India and the UK. Director Aniruddha Roy-Chowdhury describes the scenery of the hill station in the mountains as making the Kanchenjunga "the third character" in the movie.[3]

Yesterday I watched this movie Zee channel.Actualy I was waiting an IPL Match to begin and randomly surfing the channel. I saw this movie running and I thought it must be any movie fitted in afternoon slots of television. But as I fixed my eyes on television I found the film quite different. It was one of the most complex film on disturbing human relationships.

'Anuranan' is a very non-formulistic film about out-of-marriage friendships. Which isn't the same thing as an extra-marital affair. Most movies about extra-marital relationships involve sex. In this, I share a completely platonic relationship with another woman (Raima Sen). This film wants to know why a married man can't have a totally platonic friendship. Anuranan is totally non-masala."

"I think this could be an intriguing experiment, specially at this time in the history of Hindi cinema when such a variety of work is being done. I wonder how this idealistic philosophical Bengali would work. I don't know how Hindi moviegoers are going to be react to it."

Rahul Chatterjee is a second-generation East Indian who lives in Birmingham, England, along with his wife, Nandita, and works as a Designer. Rahul's late father used to work in England, then re-located to Calcutta, where Rahul met Nandita, got married to her, and when she gave birth to a still-born baby, the devastated couple re-located to Bombay, and thereafter to Birmingham. Now his employer has negotiated a contract to re-develop Kanchenjunga in the Himalayas in India, and as a result Rahul gets transferred to Calcutta, which has now been re-named to Kolkata. He gets to meet with the Agent, Amit Bannerjee, who negotiated this project as well as his wife, Preeti. The two couples meet become friends and continue to meet often. Nandita gets a job as a Montessori school-teacher, while Amit takes a trip to London amidst protests from the Himalayan Gurkha community who are against any pollution-related development in this region. This is where he will get the devastating news of Rahul's sudden death near the Himalayas, and the even more shocking news of Rahul's affair with Preeti. Watch what impact this news has on Nandita, her sister, Mitha, as well as on Preeti's mother and the rest of the community.UtsabUtsab( not to be confused with girish karnad's utsav) is a bengali movie by rituparno ghosh. This is a nice movie that is set in the background of Bhagabati's(Madhabi Mukherjee) family celebrating the durga pooja. This is a realistic and intellectual 'hum apke hai kaun'.Ok hold on don't start thinking about a bunch of happy peoples singing and dancing, it has got nothing of that sort, it is totally bland in those aspects. This is a movie that celebrates life and the complexities of relations using various metaphors.Bhagbati has 4 childrens two sons Asit(Pradip Mukherjee),Nishit(Bodhisattva Mazumdar) and two daughters Parul(Mamata Shankar), keya(Rituparna Sengupta). And it is durga pooja time and all the childrens are at their parents house to celebrate the festival. The movie starts with Parul's son Joy(Ratul Shankar Ghosh) recording the festival with his video cam. The movie slowly develops to show the problems faced by all the siblings of bhagbati like keya on the verge of divorce with her husband Arun(Prasenjit Chatterjee).Shishir(Dipankar Dey) a relative who is also a big real estate agent is interested in buying the house. Most of the family members want to sell the house. With all there personal problems and the idea of selling the house, we get a feeling that this might be the last durga festival that is going to happen in that house. What happens to the house and everyones problems is the rest of the movies. The movie is visually very dull(except for images like the above). But even though at start you feel it is kind of slow and depicts mundane things, the movie is beautifully constructed to convey its theme. At the end you will think back all those small incidents in the movie and enjoy it.A totally positive movie.Bhagabati for example is very positive about arun the son in law, who is depicted as a hopeless character. she feels and convinces her daughter that he will change himself one day. Similarly arun talking to keya tells her what he saw when the durga idols Being immersed in the river. The boys jumped with the idol to take them out for recycling. Idol loses all the plaster over it, but still the frame remains which will be used to construct a new idol. Construction and deconstruction will keep happening but the structure will remain the same .The idol is the metaphor used for a person/relationship.The movie slowly unfolds and you first come to know about the various characters, then there fears, there dreams, there past there future and what is there position in the current scenario. Like real life we misjudge certain characters at start and understand them better later. The movie aptly points out the importance of communication within the family members, which is the main reason for problem in many cases. The characters first try to hide there problems, but later they open up and confide things to there siblings/son. The telephone was used as a metaphor for communication.A beautiful moment in the movie is when shishir meets parul(ex lovers). There feelings for each other is expressed in those silent nods and glances that last for a few seconds. The relationship between joy and shompa is also expressed beautifully. The construction deconstruction process is further conveyed in the cyclic nature of things that happen in the family. Joy's uncle asit wanted to study literature but his grand ma didn't want him to do it and asit ended up studying economics. He wants to get into film institute but his dad wants to do MBA and he is going to USA to do MBA. The movie avoids all the emotional drama and ends with a beautiful climax. All there problems becomes beautiful memories.Read MoreSpecificationsPublisherMoserbearTitleJibon Katha - Anuranan - Utsab (2 DVD Pack)FormatDVDLanguageBengaliYear of Release2011GenreDramaHave doubts regarding this product?Post your questionSafe and Secure Payments.Easy returns.100% Authentic products. You might be interested inCookery BooksMin. 50% OffShop NowMusic, Movies & PostersMin. 30% OffShop NowArt BooksMin. 50% OffShop NowOther ComicsMin. 50% OffShop NowTop Stories:Brand DirectoryMOST SEARCHED IN Music, Movies & Posters:AASHIQUIANACONDA 2BAL HANUMANBARBIE AND HER SISTERS IN A PONY TALECHANAKYA SERIALTELUGU FILM SONGSCRAZY MOVIESDON NO 1DUNIYADARIGODS MUST BE CRAZYGULAAB GANGHANUMAN CARTOONHEROPANTIRHYMES IN TELUGUJAI MAA VAISHNO DEVI MOVIEKAMA SUTRA A TALE OF LOVEKUNWARI DULHANMERE BROTHER KI DULHANONLINE BENGALI MOVIESMARATHI MOVIE ONLINEENGLISH MOVIE ONLINEMSG 2OM NAMAH SHIVAYA SERIALKANNADA STORYR RAJKUMARRAM TERI GANGA MAILIYOGA IN HINDISPOKEN ENGLISH IN TAMILVEER ZAARAWESTSIDE ONLINE SHOPPINGABOUTContact UsAbout UsCareersFlipkart StoriesPressFlipkart WholesaleCorporate InformationHELPPaymentsShippingCancellation & ReturnsFAQReport InfringementPOLICYReturn PolicyTerms Of UseSecurityPrivacySitemapEPR ComplianceSOCIALFacebookTwitterYouTubeMail Us:Flipkart Internet Private Limited,
